Artificial Intelligence Center Launches

CU Denver has launched a new center where students can learn about artificial intelligence.

This special center is planned to host faculty members teaching courses on AI and discussing best research practices.

Student Career Preparation

Sophomore student Jack Clark, who attended the opening, stated that the new lab demonstrates the university's importance to the changing job market.

University Administration's Approach

Provost Karen Marrongelle stated that they aim for the center to provide a safe space for artificial intelligence experiments.

In this process where instructors can set their own rules, learnings from the center are expected to help shape campus policies.

OpenAI Agreement and Funding

The opening of the center follows a two million dollar agreement made by the University of Colorado System with OpenAI in February.

Additionally, a grant received from the Clarence V. LaGuardia Foundation was used for the center's infrastructure updates and personnel expenses.
