Artificial intelligence era in Boğaziçi University Technopark projects
Technopark General Manager Cem Duran announced that the use of artificial intelligence has reached the highest level in projects carried out in line with the Medium-Term Program vision.
Boğaziçi University Technopark General Manager Cem Duran reported that artificial intelligence is featured in almost all projects within the technopark in line with the 2027-2029 Medium-Term Program vision.
Medium-Term Program Vision
The 2027-2029 Medium-Term Program published by the Presidency's Strategy and Budget Directorate targeted the strengthening of technological independence and economic security. In this context, it was aimed to increase domestic R&D activities in strategic sectors such as defense, health, semiconductors, and artificial intelligence.
The Place of Artificial Intelligence in Projects
Boğaziçi University Technopark General Manager Cem Duran stated that transferring technologies developed in the defense industry to civilian areas is a natural process. Duran emphasized that artificial intelligence is present in almost all projects submitted to the technopark over the last three years.
Growth Targets and Employment
It was reported that the number of R&D companies within the technopark has increased from approximately 30 to 150 over the past three years. During the same period, the number of engineers rose from around 200 to approximately 1,000, with a target to increase this figure to 3,000 next year.
Campus Focus Areas
While it was stated that the Etiler campus focuses on artificial intelligence and financial technologies, it was expressed that the Kandilli campus concentrates on deep tech areas such as health, biotechnology, and biomedicine.
Incubation Center in Batman
It was conveyed that a 1,000-square-meter incubation center was opened in Batman in line with the vision of the Ministry of Industry and Technology. It was noted that this center provides know-how to entrepreneurs, particularly focusing on agricultural technologies.
