Bilimfest Izmir TÜBİTAK 4007 Science Festival Begins in September
Organized by the Izmir Provincial Directorate of National Education, the festival will feature over 80 interactive workshops themed around climate change and technology.
Supported by TÜBİTAK 4007, Bilimfest Izmir is preparing to open its doors between September 28 and October 24, 2026, with activities focused on climate change and sustainability.
Objective and Scope of the Festival
Implemented within the scope of the TÜBİTAK 4007 Science Festivals Support Program, Bilimfest Izmir aims to spread scientific thought to all segments of society. The project aims to strengthen the culture of sustainable living and increase awareness of producing science-based solutions.
Events and Workshops
Throughout the festival, topics such as energy, circular economy, water security, biodiversity, smart cities, and social sustainability will be addressed. The project will host more than 80 interactive workshops, discussions, exhibitions, experiment areas, and technology events.
Target Audience and Participation
Encompassing a wide audience from preschool to adults, the events are planned to reach approximately 50,000 visitors. With this widely participated organization, different segments of society will be brought together with science.
Virtual Access Opportunities
Thanks to the 'SanalFest Izmir – Are You VR?' project, designed as a virtual access model, students and individuals with special needs who cannot come to the venue will also be able to participate in science events through digital environments.
