Cao Bang Department of Science and Technology Convenes for 2026 Tasks

The Department of Science and Technology of Cao Bang province held a Council meeting to review science, technology, and innovation tasks to be implemented in 2026. The meeting discussed the creation of a certification mark for the native Mong chicken.

Organization of the Meeting

On the afternoon of August 25, the Department of Science and Technology of Cao Bang province held a Council meeting to review science, technology, and innovation tasks for the year 2026.

The meeting was chaired by Council Chairman Comrade Be Dang Khoa, who, together with the participants, discussed the projects and task titles to be executed in the new period.

Importance of the Mong Chicken

The Mong chicken, a native breed with black bones and black meat long raised by local people in the Cao Bang region, is adapted to the ecological conditions of the high mountainous area.

Directly linked to agricultural practices and the cultural life of the local population, this valuable livestock genetic resource has lacked a common legal tool until now.

Scope and Duration of the Task

According to the explanation by the lead registration unit, the task of establishing a certification mark for the Mong chicken will be carried out over 18 months across five separate items.

In this context, the objectives include examining the current situation, protecting the geographical indication, preparing management documents, promotional activities, and perfecting the management model.

Voting and Appointment Decisions

After discussing the matter in detail, the Council members conducted an evaluation vote resulting in a score of 75.5 out of 100 for the task in question.

As a result of the voting, the Intellectual Property and Research and Development Center was selected as the responsible unit, while Mr. Pham Tat Thang was unanimously appointed as the task leader.
