Nevşehir Hacı Bektaş Veli University Rector and Cappadocia Technopark Chairman of the Board Prof. Dr. Semih Aktekin explained the contributions made to the region's development by bridging the university's knowledge production capacity with industrial needs.

Specialization and Industrial Collaboration

Stating that they have increased regional development capacity as a specialized university in the field of Natural and Cultural Heritage Tourism, Rector Aktekin conveyed that they signed an R&D protocol with the Nevşehir Organized Industrial Zone.

It was stated that thanks to the National Technology Workshop, students are actively involved in technology development and prototype production processes.

Academic Projects and Patent Studies

Touching upon the critical roles of the Technology Transfer Office and Cappadocia Technopark in the innovation chain, the administration reported that academic TÜBİTAK project applications reached a total of 85 in the years 2024 and 2025.

In addition, it was noted that the number of supported student projects was 163, with 5 invention disclosures received and 27 patent applications made to date.

Growing Company and Employment Capacity

It was announced that Cappadocia Technopark started its operations in 2018 with 13 companies, and today it has reached a total of 46 companies, 10 of which were founded by academics.

It was stated that the structure, in which 230 R&D projects are carried out, provides employment for 533 people and has reached an export volume of approximately 2.7 million dollars and a turnover of 622 million liras.

Entrepreneurship and Incubation Activities

It was stated that comprehensive support is provided to entrepreneurs through the CAPPIN2C Incubation Center and the Labadokya Rapid Prototyping Workshop.

Information was shared that the second Cappadocia Hackathon events were organized in order to spread the technology culture in the region.
