The new rules target individuals who violate restrictions on the overseas transfer of critical technologies, primarily artificial intelligence. An overseas exit ban can be imposed as a precautionary measure against these individuals who endanger technology security.
Measures Against Those Committing Crimes Abroad
The new measures introduced are not limited to technology violations; the exits of Chinese citizens who commit crimes abroad can also be restricted for six months to three years starting from their return to the country.
