The working group of the Committee on Science, Technology and Environment met with NSMO representatives to evaluate the draft amendments to the Electricity Law and gather feedback.

Details of the Meeting in Hanoi

The working group, led by Ta Dinh Thi, Vice Chairman of the Committee on Science, Technology and Environment, met with the National Load Dispatch Center and Electricity Market Operation Company to review the draft law amending and supplementing certain articles of the Electricity Law.

Participating Names and Institutions

The meeting was attended by Committee Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Mai Phuong, Committee members, representatives from the Ministry of Industry and Trade, as well as NSMO Chairman of the Board Pham Nguyen Hung and senior executives.

Objectives of the Draft Law

The draft amendments to the Electricity Law are expected to be presented at the Second Session of the 16th National Assembly in October. The main objective of the draft is to ensure national energy security and eliminate bottlenecks in the sector.

Assessment and Recommendations from NSMO

The delegation requested assessments and recommendations from NSMO regarding the implementation of electricity laws, the dispatch of energy sources, grid coordination, and the competitive electricity market.

Conclusion of the Meeting

Ta Dinh Thi expressed appreciation for NSMO's contributions regarding practical operational challenges and the draft law, stating that these proposals will be taken into account in finalizing the draft.
