Derince Science Festival Opens Its Doors on September 15-19
Supported by TÜBİTAK 4007, the Derince Science Festival is preparing to welcome 10,000 participants in Kocaeli with workshops focused on artificial intelligence, robotics, and basic sciences.
Implemented under the leadership of the Kocaeli Derince District Directorate of National Education, the TÜBİTAK 4007 Derince Science Festival will meet science enthusiasts between September 15-19, 2026.
Purpose and Objectives of the Festival
Aimed at bringing science culture to different segments of society and increasing scientific literacy, the event aims to create significant awareness in the fields of artificial intelligence, advanced technologies, basic sciences, and engineering.
Workshop and Event Areas
Within the scope of the project, numerous workshops focusing on artificial intelligence applications, data science, robotics and coding, basic science activities, engineering, mathematics, astronomy, and sustainability will be offered to participants.
Science in Villages Meetings
With the "Science in Villages" event to be held, science theater, exhibitions, and hands-on workshops will be organized for citizens and students living in villages and neighborhoods.
Broad Participant Base
Approximately 10,000 people are expected to attend the festival, which targets all students from preschool to high school level, special education students, teachers, parents, and all citizens in the region.
