Discussions Began for the Electricity Law Amendment Draft
At the meeting held in Hanoi, feedback on the draft law amending the Electricity Law was discussed with the National Power System and Electricity Market Operation Company.
A research team led by Ta Dinh Thi, Vice Chairman of the Committee on Science, Technology and Environment, held a meeting in Hanoi to gather feedback on the draft law amending and supplementing certain articles of the Electricity Law.

A research team headed by Ta Dinh Thi, Vice Chairman of the Committee on Science, Technology and Environment, worked with the National Power System and Electricity Market Operation Company to provide feedback on the draft law amending and supplementing certain articles of the Electricity Law.
Envisaged Schedule for the Draft
The draft law amending and supplementing certain articles of the Electricity Law is expected to be submitted to the National Assembly at the Second Session of the 16th National Assembly in October. The main objective of the amendment is to institutionalize the guidelines of the Party and the State regarding the innovation of the growth model.
Objectives of the Regulation
The purpose of the work is to ensure unified State management of electricity activities, promote decentralization and the reduction of centralization in the sector, as well as to safeguard national energy security and contribute to sustainable development goals.
Evaluations by Delegates
To facilitate the preliminary review, the Committee on Science, Technology and Environment requested NSMO to evaluate the implementation of the provisions of the Electricity Law. During the meeting, delegates discussed challenges regarding electricity supply and market operation.
