During the 2026 university entrance period, Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) programs showed great appeal, accounting for 33.6% of total enrollments as hundreds of thousands of candidates turned to these fields.
Enrollment Rates and General Data
According to information shared by the Ministry of Education and Training, there are a total of 633,000 candidates who finalized their university enrollments in 2026. Among these candidates, approximately 212,600 people chose to study in STEM fields.
Strategic Technology and Science Fields
Of the enrolled candidates, 121,000 were placed to study in 15 core science, engineering, and strategic technology fields promoted by the state.
Prominent Fifteen Subject Groups
Among the designated 15 subject groups are biology, applied biology, materials science, earth science, mathematics, statistics, computer science, and information technology.
Additionally, mechanical engineering, electrical and electronics, chemistry, engineering physics, geology, mining, and civil engineering are among these groups.
Departments Requiring High Scores
New technology departments within Hanoi University of Science and Technology, such as microelectronics, automation, computer science, data science, and artificial intelligence, are drawing attention.
