The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has approved the project to build new concentrated Digital Technology Parks to create space for technology development, innovation, and research and development activities.

Main Objectives and Scope of the Project

The project approved by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee aims to create space for technology development, innovation, and R&D. Through this, it aims to build additional local science and technology capacity to serve the socio-economic development of the city.

The concentrated industrial zones aim to prioritize R&D, innovation, the development of local technological talents, and the provision of high value-added products and services.

Distinction from Traditional Industrial Zones

The city administration wants a clear distinction to be made between the functions of traditional industrial zones, which primarily serve manufacturing activities, and the new concentrated industrial zones.

It is emphasized that a strict control mechanism must be implemented for these processes to prevent the misuse of real estate development policies.

Ecosystem and Cooperation Network

The industrial parks will create a strong ecosystem connecting technology, knowledge, and businesses. The project will strengthen ties between businesses, universities, and research institutes.

2026-2027 Period Planning

In the 2026-2027 period, the city will complete tasks related to the list of concentrated industrial zones. Planning for relevant sectors will be arranged, and the legal framework and incentive mechanisms will be established.

2027-2028 Period Infrastructure Works

In the 2027-2028 period, the city will focus on completing technical and digital infrastructure in key areas. Clusters for R&D and pilot production will be established.

Goals for 2030 and Beyond

By 2030, the network of concentrated IT parks, aiming to attract large technology companies and innovation centers, is expected to be fundamentally established. After 2030, expansion of the scale is planned.

Responsible Institutions and Coordination

The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee assigned the Department of Science and Technology as the lead agency to coordinate with relevant departments and local authorities in implementing the project.
