Kutahya's Historical and Cultural Values Examined with STEM Approach
Local and international students explored the city's cultural heritage through science and technology at a digital STEM walk event held in Kutahya.
With the digital STEM walk event held in Kutahya, local and international students had the opportunity to examine the city's historical and cultural values from the perspective of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
Schools and Teams Participating in the Event
Students from different schools came together at the event carried out by the Directorate YEĞİTEK Project Coordination. Students from Aysel-Selahattin Erkasap Social Sciences High School, IES Sabina Mora High School from Spain, Nafi Güral Science High School, Necip Fazıl Kısakürek Anatolian High School, and TOBB Kutahya OIZ Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School participated.
Intercultural Communication and Collaborative Work
Mixed teams formed by students from different schools acted together throughout the day and shared tasks. The inclusion of Spanish students in the teams enabled participants to use their foreign languages in daily life and establish intercultural communication.
Tasks at Six Different Cultural Points
Students successfully completed the digital STEM tasks prepared at six different cultural points, namely the Green Mosque, Dönenler Mosque, Grand Mosque, Germiyan Street, Tile Workshop, and City History Museum.
Skill Development in Real-Life Environments
Students who observed, measured, compared, and analyzed recorded the results they obtained in a digital environment. Thanks to the event, students developed their problem-solving, collaboration, communication, decision-making, responsibility-taking, and digital skills.
