Locally Produced GÖKBEY Helicopter Joins the General Directorate of Security Inventory
The T625 GÖKBEY general-purpose helicopter, manufactured by TAI, has been included in the inventory of the General Directorate of Security.
The first T625 GÖKBEY general-purpose helicopter, produced by Turkish Aerospace Industries, was delivered to the inventory of the Aviation Department of the General Directorate of Security with an official ceremony.
Ceremony Held at TAI Facilities
An official ceremony was held at TAI's Kahramankazan Facilities for the acceptance into the inventory of the first T625 GÖKBEY helicopter developed with domestic and national resources.
Total of 18 Deliveries to the Police Department
According to statements made, the first of a total of 18 GÖKBEY helicopters to be added to the Police Department's inventory has been made ready for delivery and handed over to the institution.
Ongoing Trainings for Personnel
It was reported that within the scope of the helicopter project, 6 pilots and 4 helicopter technicians are continuing their GÖKBEY type-rating training within TAI.
Economic Contribution to the Defense Industry
Defense Industry President Haluk Görgün stated that by meeting needs with domestic resources, direct imports of over 8 billion dollars have been prevented.
It was stated that when maintenance and upkeep costs are also taken into account, the total economic contribution provided by the project exceeds 35 billion dollars.
Vehicle Statistics Put Into Service
It was noted that a total of 39 T70, 8 GÖKBEY, and 80 ATAK helicopters have been put into service for the security forces to date.
International Successes
It was announced that 12 ATAK helicopters, produced within the scope of domestic aviation activities, have been exported abroad.

Director General of Security Ali Fidan emphasized that security dominance in the skies will be carried much further with a total of 18 GÖKBEY helicopters.
