Minister Kacır Announced Artificial Intelligence Targets at the G20 Meeting
Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır shared Turkey's new-era vision at the G20 Innovation Ministers Meeting in the USA.
Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır presented Turkey's strategic targets in the field of artificial intelligence, the 2026-2030 Artificial Intelligence Action Plan, and the HIT-30 program to the international public at the G20 Innovation Ministers Meeting held in the United States of America.
Participation in G20 Meeting Sessions
Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır participated in the sessions held in the USA on Pro-Innovation Policy Frameworks in G20, Technology for Opportunity and Prosperity, Development of a Skilled Technical Workforce, Intellectual Property Policies for Artificial Intelligence, Artificial Intelligence for Standards and Standards for Artificial Intelligence, and Industrial Innovation and Investment in Supply Chains.
Emphasis on Technology for the Benefit of Humanity
Making evaluations after the G20 Innovation Ministers Meeting, Minister Kacır stated that artificial intelligence is a technology rapidly changing all areas of life, noting that a period of transformation far beyond previous industrial revolutions has been entered.
Kacır emphasized that developing artificial intelligence for the benefit of humanity and advancing it with the participation of all countries and societies, rather than just a few countries or companies, is a primary goal.
2026-2030 Artificial Intelligence Action Plan
Stating that the 2026-2030 Artificial Intelligence Action Plan has been put into practice under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Minister Kacır noted that the main elements of the plan are perceive, benefit, produce, and manage.
In line with these targets, he announced that artificial intelligence training will be provided to 5 million citizens within the next two years, and 100,000 artificial intelligence application professionals and 10,000 artificial intelligence experts will be trained.
Data Infrastructure and HIT-30 Program
Informing that public data sets will be opened to developers, Kacır stated that projects generating added value in Turkey will be accelerated and data center capacity will be increased to the gigawatt level.
Conveying that data center and artificial intelligence investments will be accelerated particularly with the HIT-30 program, Minister Kacır announced that the realization of 10 billion dollars in private sector investments will be ensured by 2030.
