Minister Kacır: First Phase of Terminal Istanbul Project Launches This Month
Industry and Technology Minister Mehmet Fatih Kacır announced that the first phase of Terminal Istanbul, established at Atatürk Airport as the world's largest technology entrepreneurship center, will be introduced this month.
Industry and Technology Minister Mehmet Fatih Kacır visited the TEKNOFEST finals held at the TÜBİTAK campus in Gebze, Kocaeli, examined young people's projects, and announced that the first phase of the Terminal Istanbul project will begin this month.
TEKNOFEST Excitement in Gebze
Industry and Technology Minister Mehmet Fatih Kacır followed the finals of the electric vehicle and Hyperloop competitions held on-site at the TÜBİTAK campus in Gebze, Kocaeli.
While electric and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles designed and developed by young people took to the track, Minister Kacır chatted with the competing youth, signed the vehicles, and took souvenir photos with them.
Festival to be Held in Şanlıurfa
Stating that TEKNOFEST is being organized for the 15th time in its 9th year, Minister Kacır expressed that they will host an enthusiastic event in Şanlıurfa between September 30 and October 4.
Emphasizing that more than 1.6 million young people participated in the competitions across 61 different categories this year, Kacır described this situation as an unprecedented social mobilization.
Financial Support for Project Teams
Stating that young people carry their dreams into R&D projects and technology startups, Kacır noted that the total value of material support awards offered to the competition teams exceeded 175 million liras.
With the National Technology Workshops implemented on university campuses, each providing 30 million liras in support, it is aimed for young people to prepare better for national and international competitions.

Work is rapidly continuing at Terminal Istanbul, which is being established at Atatürk Airport and holds the distinction of being the world's largest technology entrepreneurship center.
In his statement, Minister Mehmet Fatih Kacır broke the good news that the introduction of the first phase of the project will take place this month and the initial entrepreneur admissions will officially begin.
