The Ministry of Science and Technology announced recent work in strategic technologies, draft laws, and the field of artificial intelligence.
At the Ministry of Science and Technology's August 2026 press conference, important developments regarding the completion of draft laws, strategic technologies, the National Digital Master Architecture Framework, and the national artificial intelligence strategy were disclosed.
Draft Laws and Regulations
The Ministry spearheaded the development of several important draft laws and documents throughout the month. The National Assembly approved the law amending articles of the Radio Frequency Law, the Telecommunications Law, and the Technology Transfer Law.
Strategic Technology and Decisions
The focus in September will be on strategic technology. The Prime Minister issued decisions approving the national system consisting of key research and laboratory centers. The Intellectual Property Strategy was also updated.
International Collaborations
The Ministry established the Global Vietnamese AI Experts Network. Steps for cooperation in digital economy, infrastructure, and artificial intelligence were taken with Australia and Singapore. Satellite orbits were negotiated with the USA.
Digital Sector and Data
While thousands of international publications were featured in the Scopus database, NDXP reached billions of transactions. The digital technology sector recorded high growth, increasing its export turnover and revenues.
Artificial Intelligence and Future Goals
By 2030, the national artificial intelligence strategy aims for the country to be among the top three nations in the region and for the AI economy to reach approximately 6% of GDP.
