The Nebraska state government has launched a new AI-powered assistant on its official website to provide citizens with faster and more effective services.
Nebraska Governor Jim Pillen announced the launch of an artificial intelligence assistant named Nebraska Navigator on the state's official website, following a successful pilot project conducted through the Department of Motor Vehicles.
Introduction of the AI Assistant
Nebraska Governor Jim Pillen announced the addition of a new artificial intelligence assistant designed to help citizens on the state's main website. This new application, called Nebraska Navigator, went live on September 1st.
Success Results of the Pilot Project
The integration into the new website constitutes the second phase implemented following the pilot project launched with the Department of Motor Vehicles in December. Governor Pillen stated that the results obtained from the DMV pilot study were extremely impressive.
Statistics of the Pilot Period
The 'Ask the DMV' project achieved a 20 percent reduction in call volume while answering more than 188,000 questions. Nineteen percent of the interactions took place between midnight and 6:00 AM, and the service was offered in 50 different languages.
Funding Structure of the Project
The enterprise-wide AI assistant is funded by the Nebraska State Records Board. Following the DMV pilot project, the Records Board decided to rapidly support this statewide model.
Testing Process and Feedback
Tested with more than 5,000 questions prior to launch, the program went live with a 95 percent success rate. During the public beta test phase, which is expected to last until October, feedback regarding visitor experiences is anticipated.
