New Draft Regulation on Infection Control in Healthcare Facilities from the Ministry of Health

Purpose and Scope of the Draft Circular
The Ministry of Health has initiated work on an infection control regulation intended to replace Circular No. 16 issued in 2018. The new draft aims to make processes in medical examination and treatment facilities safer.
Emphasis on Process and Quality Management
The primary emphasis of this draft is the necessity for infection control measures to be continuously implemented in close connection with quality management and patient safety. Measures will be flexibly adjusted according to the expertise level and risk degree of each facility.
Material Quality and Digital Technologies
Materials and medical equipment used in the process must be of the highest quality, and manufacturer instructions must be followed. While digital technology applications are encouraged, ensuring information security and confidentiality is mandatory.
Managerial Responsibilities and Outsourcing
The draft outlines the personal responsibilities of facility managers and requires them to organize the implementation of the regulations. Even if services are outsourced, the ultimate responsibility will remain with the institution.
