Vietnam and Russia decided to deepen their cooperation in the fields of science, technology, innovation, and technical education through forums held in Moscow and Hanoi in September 2026.

Science and Technology Forum in Moscow

Within the framework of the state visit to the Russian Federation, the Vietnam-Russia Science and Technology Forum themed 'Uniting Strategic Technologies' was held in Moscow on September 9, 2026.

Approximately 500 delegates from both countries participated in the meeting, initiating a new process for joint research projects.

2026 Year of Exchange and Funds

During the visit and the forum, it was decided that 2026 would be designated as the Vietnam-Russia Year of Education, Science, and Technology Exchange.

In this context, the Russian Science Foundation and the Vietnam National Foundation for Science and Technology Development implemented a joint research project process.

Technical Education Summit in Hanoi

In the ongoing process, the Russia-Vietnam Forum on Technical, Scientific, and Technological Education for Technological Development was held in Hanoi on September 23, 2026.

At this forum, officials made important evaluations regarding the future of relations between the two countries.

Co-creation and Technical Education

Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Tran Trung Tinh emphasized that cooperation must shift from exchange to joint implementation and co-creation.

Established in 2023, the Russia-Vietnam Consortium of Technical Universities continues to train qualified engineers in critical fields.
