Para Magazine's 16th New Generation Entrepreneurship Summit Held
At the summit led by Para Magazine, women's access to technology, STEM education, and scientific entrepreneurship were discussed.
The 16th New Generation Entrepreneurship Summit, organized by Para Magazine under the main sponsorship of Halkbank with the theme "Women and Innovation in Science and Technology," brought together prominent figures from the business, public, and entrepreneurship worlds.
Main Theme and Scope of the Summit
At the event held on August 25 with the main sponsorship of Halkbank, the aim was to strengthen women's access to technology and entrepreneurship.
The sessions addressed sustainable career opportunities, financing, mentoring, and increasing female representation in decision-making positions.
Education and Business Life Paradox
Turkuvaz Magazine General Manager Yasemin Gebeş stated that the completion rate of STEM education in Turkey is 81 percent, which is above the OECD average.
Gebeş emphasized that while this rate reaches 91 percent among young women, only 27 percent of female STEM graduates are employed in their own fields.
Proportion of Women in Technology Startups
Fahri Dağlar, an official from the Ministry of Industry and Technology, announced that according to research conducted with TURKSTAT, the rate of female co-founders in technology startups is 13 percent.
It is aimed to increase the visibility of women in the ecosystem through the Women's Entrepreneurship Institute within the Ministry.
Innovative Classrooms Established in 81 Provinces
Sümeyye Hatice Eral, a representative of the Ministry of National Education, reported that 526 Innovative Classrooms have been established across 81 provinces and that another 500 classrooms will be added this year.
It was stated that STEM education and project-based learning approaches form the basis of these classrooms.
