Prime Minister Le Minh Hung Chides Science and Digital Transformation Session
Prime Minister Le Minh Hung, head of Central Steering Committee 57, called for increased productivity at a meeting on innovation and digital transformation contributing to socio-economic development.
At the thematic session chaired by Prime Minister Le Minh Hung, activities for the third quarter of 2026 were evaluated, and the role of science and technology was discussed in line with double-digit growth targets.
Holding of the Thematic Session
The meeting, held in person at the Government headquarters and online with provinces across the country, was conducted under the leadership of Prime Minister Le Minh Hung, Head of Central Steering Committee 57.
High-Level Participation
The meeting was attended by Politburo members, Standing Member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Head of the Steering Committee Tran Cam Tu, and Acting Prime Minister Pham Gia Tuc.
High Growth Targets
Prime Minister Le Minh Hung stated that GDP growth reached 8.18 percent in the first six months of the year, noting that a rate of approximately 12 percent must be achieved in the last six months to meet the full-year targets.
Emphasis on Productivity and Transformation
Stating that growth cannot rely solely on capital and low-cost labor, the Prime Minister emphasized that productivity stemming from science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation must be increased for sustainable high growth.
Implementation Capacity Bottleneck
Stating that the basic institutional framework has been streamlined and progress has been made in infrastructure, the Prime Minister stated that the biggest bottleneck is implementation capacity and the responsibility of leaders.
