During a thematic meeting chaired by Prime Minister Le Minh Hung, the contributions of science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation to socio-economic development and the reform of the growth model were evaluated. It was emphasized that these areas must become the primary driving forces to achieve the double-digit growth target.
Purpose and Scope of the Meeting
Chaired by Prime Minister Le Minh Hung, Head of the Central Executive Committee, the meeting was held at the Government Headquarters with online connections. Officials from the State Bank of Vietnam also participated in the meeting, where the results of the third quarter were discussed.
Growth Model and Double-Digit Target
It was announced that GDP growth reached 8.18 percent in the first six months of the year. It was stated that an intense effort must be made to achieve a growth rate of approximately 12 percent in the last six months in order to meet the year-end target.
Productivity and Direct Impact
It was stated that the only way to achieve sustainable high growth is to increase productivity. It was noted that science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation must no longer be complementary, but direct and measurable growth drivers.
Future Tasks
At the end of the meeting, key tasks and solutions regarding the perfection of institutions, the development of digital infrastructure and databases, and the efficient use of funding sources were discussed.
