At the 77th International Astronautical Congress held in Antalya, a comprehensive protocol aimed at technology production was signed between TÜRKSAT and Chinese satellite operator China Satcom.

Signing Ceremony Held at the Congress

An important step was taken within the scope of the 77th International Astronautical Congress held at the Antalya NEST Congress Center under the coordination of the Ministry of Industry and Technology.

At the ceremony held at the TÜRKSAT stand, the cooperation protocol was signed by TÜRKSAT Deputy General Manager of Satellite Services Selman Demirel and China Satcom CEO Ma Haiquan.

Partnership Expands to Hardware and Software

The process, which began last year with capacity sharing, was expanded with decisions taken at the World Space Business Week in Paris and moved to a new phase.

With the combination of the engineering expertise of the two countries, a joint R&D era focused on hardware and software development has officially begun.

Next-Generation Technologies Will Be Produced

Within the framework of the agreement, it is planned to produce UAV communication systems, satellite-based internet of things, and smart border security technologies.

Needs in the energy, agriculture, and logistics sectors will be met with special devices to be designed for geographies lacking terrestrial communication.

Joint Committee Will Supervise the Process

It was decided to establish a Joint Steering Committee where both institutions will be equally represented in order to ensure the smooth operation of R&D activities.

All studies and projects to be carried out will be regularly evaluated in three-month periods.
