Reliance Jio is opening its cloud-based JioPC service to all internet users as a standalone subscription, aiming to turn older computers into AI-powered machines without the need for hardware upgrades.

Scope of the Cloud Computer Service

Reliance Jio has expanded its JioPC service, previously offered exclusively to its own broadband subscribers, as a standalone subscription to all users regardless of their internet provider.

Technical Specifications and Performance

The service streams a virtual computer from Jio's cloud infrastructure to an existing computer. Plans are capable of providing users with up to eight virtual CPUs, 16 GB of RAM, and up to 1 TB of storage.

New Solution for Older Computers

Jio states that through this system, even computers up to eight years old can access the processing power required for modern artificial intelligence applications without users needing to purchase new machines.

Subscription Pricing Options

The service's two-month plans start at one thousand rupees, while a 12-year 8 GB RAM and 500 GB storage option is offered for four thousand rupees, and the version with 16 GB and 1 TB configuration is available for five thousand rupees.

According to IDC estimates, over 65 million computers were in use in India in 2025, and this installed base is expected to approach 69 million by the end of 2026.
