Rural students in Muğla met with science and technology
Thanks to a TÜBİTAK-supported project, children in rural areas had the opportunity to be introduced to sky observation, virtual reality, and various scientific workshops.
Students studying in rural areas of Muğla participated in scientific and technological activities through a special project organized within the scope of the TÜBİTAK 4009 program.
Scope and Location of the Project
The Bringing Science and Technology to the Village project, carried out under the coordination of the Muğla Science and Art Center, was implemented at Yeşilyurt Secondary School in the Menteşe district. Muğla Provincial Director of National Education Emre Çay was also present at the events.
Applied Science Workshops
Practical training was provided to students in studies conducted with the accompaniment of Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University academics and expert instructors. The initiative aimed to support children's research and exploration skills.
Technology and Space Experiences
During the program, students conducted sky observations and performed microscopic examinations. They also experienced modern tools such as virtual reality applications and flight simulations.
Information Sessions for Parents
Informative sessions were also organized for parents within the scope of the events. These sessions raised awareness on topics such as children's safe relationship with technology and digital addiction.
Main Objectives of the Project
The primary goal of the project was announced as bringing science and technology to children in rural areas. Through practical sessions, the aim was to keep the students' sense of curiosity alive.
