Science, Technology and Digital Transformation Initiatives Evaluated
Chaired by Prime Minister Le Minh Hung, the Central Steering Committee reviewed the results of science, technology, and digital transformation activities for the third quarter of 2026.
The 57th meeting of the Central Steering Committee was held on September 28, 2026, chaired by Prime Minister Le Minh Hung, who serves as the Head of the Central Steering Committee for Science, Technology, Innovation, and Digital Transformation. Held in a hybrid format, the meeting comprehensively evaluated the results of activities contributing to socio-economic development in the third quarter of 2026.
Purpose of the Meeting
The 57th Central Steering Committee meeting was held in a hybrid format under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Le Minh Hung, Head of the Central Steering Committee for Science, Technology, Innovation, and Digital Transformation. The meeting evaluated the results of activities contributing to socio-economic development in the third quarter of 2026.
Politburo Resolution Task Distribution
Tasks carried out in accordance with the Politburo's Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW were reviewed, reporting that out of a total of 2,011 tasks, 1,326 have been completed, 482 are implemented regularly, 176 are ongoing, and 27 are delayed.
Databases and VNeID Integration
Critical digital transformation topics, such as the integration of databases and the inclusion of more than 34.02 million electronic health records into the VNeID system, were thoroughly discussed at the meeting.
Data Center and Infrastructure Developments
Eight out of 12 core databases have been synchronized with the National Data Center, and 69 out of 104 specialized databases have been connected to the system.
Budget Allocations and Financial Status
The total budget for 2026 was projected at 104,461.4 billion VND, with local authorities to allocate an additional approximately 15,264 billion VND; as of September 18, 2026, 51,019 billion VND had been allocated and 17,442 billion VND disbursed, reaching a rate of 34.19%.
Economic Contribution and Growth Rates
The added-value ratio of science, technology, and digital transformation in GDP increased from 15.29% in 2020 to 16.51% in 2025, while the digital economy is estimated to account for 14.02% of GDP in 2025.
Prime Minister's Instructions and Expectations
Prime Minister Le Minh Hung requested ministries, sectors, and local authorities to urgently complete delayed tasks, remove bottlenecks in mechanisms and policies, and accelerate database operations.
