TEKNOFEST Southeast Brings Science and Technology Enthusiasts Together in Şanlıurfa
Held at Şanlıurfa GAP Airport, the festival broke the record in Anatolia with approximately 1.5 million visitors.
Turkey's largest science and technology festival, TEKNOFEST, took place this year in Şanlıurfa with the participation of approximately 1.5 million visitors. TÜBİTAK reached thousands of people through activities and exhibitions held throughout the festival.
Record Participation in Şanlıurfa
TEKNOFEST, the meeting point for science and technology enthusiasts of all ages, opened its doors this year at Şanlıurfa GAP Airport. Breaking the record as the largest TEKNOFEST held in Anatolia, the event was visited by approximately 1.5 million people.
TÜBİTAK's Festival Activities
TÜBİTAK took part in the festival in a 2,875-square-meter area with four thematic tents. While 40,000 visitors were directly hosted through workshops and experiences held, interactive exhibitions were followed by over 100,000 people.
Participation of State Officials
Following the opening attended by Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır, the first-place awards of the winning teams were presented by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. The awards for the second and third place teams were presented by Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz.
Şanlıurfa Science Center Opened
The official opening of the Şanlıurfa Science Center, realized in cooperation with TÜBİTAK and Şanlıurfa Metropolitan Municipality, took place with the honor of President Erdoğan.
Domestic Products and Technology Stands
TÜBİTAK's units such as SAGE, UZAY, and RUTE exhibited defense industry products, domestic satellites, and new projects at their stands. Throughout the festival, 16 different competitions were organized in fields such as artificial intelligence, rocket design, and polar research.
