Türk Telekom has established the R&D and Innovation Science Board to focus on future advanced technologies such as 6G, artificial intelligence, quantum, and satellite communications. The company announced that it has signed over 2,000 patent applications in the last three years.
Objective and Scope of the Science Board
Focusing on advanced future technologies, particularly 6G, artificial intelligence, quantum technologies, satellite communications, and next-generation networks, the board establishes a permanent cooperation ground between academia and the industry.
The board aims to increase Turkey's national technology power and effectiveness at global standards, while bringing academic accumulation together with the field experience of the telecom sector.

Türk Telekom CEO Ebubekir Şahin stated that they are working determinedly in line with the vision of developing national technology to turn the country into a technology base that sets global standards.
Şahin emphasized that they aim to contribute to the development of new ideas and technologies by bringing academic knowledge together with Türk Telekom's R&D capability and field technology experience.
Leadership in Patent Applications
Being the company that made the highest number of patent applications in Turkey in 2024, Türk Telekom maintained its leadership in this field with 921 applications made in 2025.
With these successes, the company has signed over 2,000 patent applications in the last three years and attaches great importance to supporting its human resources.

The Türk Telekom R&D and Innovation Science Board brings together Prof. Dr. Elif Uysal, Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Arslan, Prof. Dr. Berk Canberk, Prof. Dr. Resul Daş, Prof. Dr. Lütfiye Durak Ata, and Prof. Dr. Halim Yanıkömeroğlu under the same roof.
The six scientists, who stand out with their international academic studies, will contribute to the board with their expertise in different areas of next-generation communication technologies.
