Turkey expands cooperation in space activities by joining the Artemis Accords
With the agreement signed in Washington with the participation of Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır, Turkey took steps to strengthen its global partnerships in the field of space.

Signing Ceremony at NASA Headquarters
Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır visited NASA Headquarters in the US capital Washington and signed the memorandum of understanding regarding Turkey's participation in the Artemis Accords.
Emphasis on International Space Cooperation
Making evaluations after the signing ceremony, Minister Kacır emphasized that international cooperation to be carried out in the fields of the Moon, Mars, and deep space within the scope of the Artemis Accords is of great importance.
Developments in Satellite Technologies
Touching upon Turkey's competence in the field of satellites, Kacır stated that with projects such as Bilsat, RASAT, Göktürk 2, İMECE, and TÜRKSAT 6A produced with a domestic production rate of over 80 percent, Turkey has entered the ranks of the 11 countries capable of producing their own communication satellites.
Moon Mission in 2027
In his statement, Minister Kacır announced to the public that the spacecraft equipped with a hybrid rocket engine developed by Turkey using its own resources will be sent to the Moon in the first months of 2027.
Spaceport Project in Somalia
Drawing attention to the spaceport project that has begun construction in Somalia, Kacır stated that this strategic investment will ensure Turkey's independent access to space and strengthen its position in the global space economy.
Global Consensus Reaching 71 Countries
It was stated that following the space journey carried out by Alper Gezeravcı, human space missions and international cooperation steps have gained momentum, and with Turkey's participation, the total number of countries that have signed the Artemis Accords has reached 71.
