During his official contacts in the US, Minister of Health Prof. Dr. Kemal Memişoğlu visited critical facilities, while Turkey's vision of becoming a regional hub in health technologies and production was emphasized.

Minister Memişoğlu's Contacts in the US

Health Minister Prof. Dr. Kemal Memişoğlu held a series of official talks in the US in September with the aim of advancing Turkey's healthcare infrastructure through science, technology, and innovation.

As part of the visits, Minister Memişoğlu met with US Health Minister Robert Francis Kennedy Jr. to discuss potential areas of cooperation between the two countries.

Visit to Technology and Production Facilities

Minister Memişoğlu and his accompanying delegation conducted on-site inspections at the production facilities of Intuitive Surgical, the developer of the da Vinci Robotic Surgery System.

The delegation also visited major centers such as GE HealthCare, MSD, Astra Zeneca, Hermes Biosciences, Stanford Medicine Laboratory, Precigen, MBC BioLabs, and Genentech.

Department of Medical Device Services Established

A new department was established under the General Directorate of Public Hospitals of the Ministry of Health, and Emre Şahin was appointed to this position.

The new unit aims to enhance the efficiency of public facilities in the processes of demand planning, procurement, inventory management, maintenance-repair, and lifecycle tracking.

Preparations for the 3rd National Biomedical Congress

Organized by the Biomedical Technologies Association (BIYOTED), the 3rd Biomedical Congress will be held at the Antalya Kremlin Palace Hotel from November 5 to 8, 2026.

The congress will host a major sectoral gathering by bringing together industry professionals, engineers, academics, and medical technology companies under one roof.
