At the opening ceremony of the new academic year, Professor Mai Thanh Phong, Rector of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, advised students to develop enduring values such as independent thinking and integrity, which artificial intelligence cannot replace.

Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology officially welcomed more than six thousand new students for the 2026-2027 academic year at its opening ceremony.

Artificial Intelligence and Human Values

Drawing attention to the advancement of technology, Rector Professor Mai Thanh Phong emphasized that artificial intelligence cannot replace human thought and should be viewed as a supportive tool.

It was especially expressed at the ceremony that it is of great importance for students to maintain their ability for independent thinking, the skill to verify information, and integrity.

New Educational Programs

In addition to traditional disciplines, the university continues to develop new programs such as Nuclear Engineering, Semiconductor Engineering, and Autonomous Vehicle Engineering.

Increased Application Rates

Continuing its efforts to improve educational quality and extend internship durations, the school recorded an increase of approximately forty-nine percent in the number of applications compared to the previous year.
