Heinrich Gerd-Witte and Hans-Joachim Radtke, Advisory Board Members of the German Federal Association for Economic Development and Foreign Trade (BWA), evaluated high-tech agricultural cooperation opportunities between the two countries.

Current Challenges and Solutions

Experts stated that Vietnam has a solid foundation in agriculture but faces challenges such as climate change, water resources, urbanization, and the demand for sustainable food.

It was expressed that Germany's strengths in areas such as artificial intelligence-supported systems, autonomous driving, digitalization, and automation can make significant contributions to Vietnam's modernization.

Joint Transformation Approach

While it was emphasized that the cooperation aims not only to develop agriculture but also to increase the access of Vietnamese agricultural products especially to the European market, attention was drawn to obstacles such as expectation gaps and lack of financing.

BWA experts conveyed that instead of a simple technology export, they adopt and propose a joint transformation approach where technology is researched together and localized.
