Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) Leader Bafel Talabani paid an official visit to Tehran with a high-level political and security delegation.

Within the scope of the visit, Bafel Talabani met with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi to discuss bilateral relations.

Other Planned Contacts

The delegation headed by Talabani is expected to continue its contacts in Tehran and hold meetings with various high-ranking officials.

The delegation is also planned to meet with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf.

Regional Security and Border Protection

The meetings are expected to address the regional security situation and joint coordination issues regarding border protection.

It was reported that the visit was made to protect sensitive security balances in the region and to keep the Kurdistan Region of Iraq away from conflicts.

Aim to Deepen Relations

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmail Baghaei stated that the visit aims to deepen relations between the two sides.

It was noted that issues of border security and economic cooperation will also be discussed in detail during the meetings.
