Vietnam and JINR Celebrate Seventieth Year of Nuclear Science Cooperation
The Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology and JINR held a comprehensive ceremony to review their seventy-year partnership in nuclear science and evaluate future research goals.
An official ceremony was held to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Vietnam's membership in cooperation with the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology and JINR. The event evaluated the history of scientific relations between the two sides while addressing new directions in future research and education.
Details of the Anniversary Ceremony
The Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, in partnership with JINR, organized a widely attended event to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the country's full membership in JINR.
The program brought together academy leaders, JINR officials, diplomatic missions, research institutes, universities, and Vietnamese scientists who have served within JINR.
Contributions of the Cooperation
Professor Tran Hong Thai, President of the Vietnam Academy of Sciences, stated that the value of the cooperation is not limited merely to the number of joint projects.
It was particularly emphasized that JINR provides Vietnamese scientists with the opportunity to directly participate in international research activities.
International Research Center
JINR Director Professor Grigory V. Trubnikov made important evaluations regarding the institution's development process.
It was stated that the center has today reached an interdisciplinary structure with 7 laboratories and over 5,300 personnel from more than 30 countries.
New Future-Oriented Projects
As part of the celebrations, projects for establishing a joint nuclear physics research laboratory and a JINR Information Center were highlighted.
The parties confirmed that these initiatives will be the most important components of future nuclear science cooperation.
Education and Human Resource Development
It was noted that to date, more than 130 Vietnamese officials have received training at the doctoral and doctor of science levels.
Additionally, it was announced that 7 major cooperation projects between Vietnam and JINR will be implemented for the 2024-2026 period.
