Vietnam Enhances International Collaborations for Next-Generation Vaccine Production

Vietnam is taking significant steps regarding the domestic production of next-generation vaccines, technology transfer, and participation in the global value chain by strengthening international partnerships in health and biotechnology.

Vietnam-France Summit and Strategic Vision

The Vietnam-France Summit held in Hanoi marked an important turning point in the strategic cooperation between the two countries in the fields of health, science, and technology.

The summit aims to reduce dependence on external suppliers, increase domestic production capacity, and integrate Vietnam into the global high-tech vaccine value chain.

Current Status in the Pharmaceutical Industry

Ta Manh Hung, Deputy Director of the Drug Administration Department under the Ministry of Health, stated that the country has made progress in original branded drugs.

However, the official emphasized that there is still a significant gap in the fields of vaccines and high-tech biological products.

New Vaccine Factory Project in Tay Ninh

The Vaccine and Biological Products Factory, whose foundation was laid by VNVC in Tay Ninh in May 2025, targets international standards.

With an investment exceeding 2,500 billion VND, the factory aims to meet WHO-GMP, EU-GMP, and US FDA-cGMP standards.

International Technology and Production Partnerships

VNVC signed a contract with Germany-based Syntegon Group for an investment in a modern automatic vaccine production line.

Additionally, within the scope of the cooperation roadmap with Sanofi from France, the first joint products are planned to be produced starting in 2028.

Global Research Network and RNA Studies

To build long-term capacity, VNVC is expanding its cooperation network with global partners such as GSK, Pfizer, RDIF, and Medsintez.

The Tam Anh Research Institute announced that it will increase RNA technology research by cooperating with the UNSW RNA Institute.
