July Net Profit of the Banking Sector Announced
According to Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency data, the sector's total assets exceeded 53 trillion liras.
The July report regarding the unconsolidated main indicators of the Turkish banking sector has been published. According to the published data, the sector's net profit surpassed 596 billion liras, while significant increases were recorded in asset size and loan volume.
Asset Size and Loan Volume
According to the report shared by the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency, the sector's total assets reached 53 trillion 817 billion 209 million liras. The total assets of the sector increased by 6 trillion 870 billion 411 million liras compared to the end of last year.
Loans and Securities
Loans, which constitute the largest asset item of the sector, were recorded at the level of 27 trillion 448 billion 319 million liras in July. The total securities were recorded as 7 trillion 790 billion 424 million liras.
Growth Rates and Non-Performing Loan Ratio
Compared to the end of the year, the sector's total assets increased by 14.6 percent, and total loans increased by 18.7 percent. During this period, the non-performing loan ratio of the loans materialized as 2.86 percent.
Deposits and Equity
Deposits, which are the main funding source of banks, increased by 13.6 percent to reach 30 trillion 924 billion 126 million liras. The total equity of the sector also recorded an increase of 11.9 percent compared to the end of last year.
