Vietnam Restructures Science and Technology Programs for the 2026-2035 Period
Vietnam has approved the decision to restructure national science, technology, and innovation programs into six main groups for the 2026-2035 period.
The project for restructuring national science, technology, and innovation programs for the 2026-2035 period in Vietnam has been officially approved. In the new period, resources will focus on strategic technologies.
Scope of Restructuring
Under the project, competent authorities will review and adjust the existing national science and technology program system. The goal is to prevent duplication of resources and ensure comprehensiveness of scope.
Six Main Program Groups
The programs under the project are divided into six groups. These are potential development, basic research, national key programs, innovation, special national programs, and digital transformation programs.
Core and Strategic Objectives
Resources will focus on mastering core and strategic technologies. Additionally, it aims to provide scientific arguments to serve national governance and the development of the people.
Targets for the 2026-2030 Period
In the initial stage, the progress of the programs will be measured through digital platforms. It is planned to establish 30 strong research groups that meet regional standards.
Entrepreneurship and Global Chain
At least 20 enterprises developing strategic technology products will be established, and at least five of them will participate in global value chains. Furthermore, numerous innovative startups will be supported.
