Foreign ministry officials from Turkey, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia have decided to meet urgently in Riyadh to discuss the recent attacks by the Houthis in Yemen.

Urgent Trilateral Summit in Riyadh

Pakistani Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar announced that Turkey, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia will convene urgently in Riyadh. The main agenda item of the high-level meeting to be held next week will be the attacks by the Houthis in Yemen.

Mecca Agreement and Defense Cooperation

It was stated that the meeting will be conducted within the framework of the Mecca Agreement. The three countries had established a regional security umbrella by signing a historic joint defense agreement in Jeddah on August 7.

Regional Balance and Future Goals

This partnership, established with Turkey's position in NATO, Pakistan's nuclear power, and Saudi Arabia's identity as an oil exporter, aims for a deterrent balance. There is also a possibility that Egypt may be included in the process.
