Signing Ceremony at NASA Headquarters

Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır visited NASA Headquarters in Washington, the capital of the United States. During this visit, a signing ceremony was held officially approving Türkiye's participation in the Artemis Accords.

Core Principles of the Agreement

Within the scope of the Artemis Accords, countries are aimed to adopt the principles of transparency, data sharing, and interoperability in Moon, Mars, and deep space exploration. The agreement aims for countries to act in harmony in their space activities.

International Cooperation and Goals

Minister Kacır stated that this agreement, signed ahead of the Moon mission planned for 2027, will take international cooperation to an advanced level. It was emphasized that Türkiye has reached a position of developing advanced technology in line with the National Technology Move.

Hybrid Rocket Engine for Moon Mission

Preparations continue within the framework of the National Space Program, coordinated by the Turkish Space Agency. Türkiye plans to send a spacecraft with a hybrid rocket engine developed through its own resources to the Moon in the first months of 2027.
