750 Million Dollar Funding for Türkiye's Agricultural Food Sector Transformation Project
With the new project approved by the World Bank, 750 million dollars in concessional external financing support will be provided to Türkiye's agri-food sector.
The project prepared for the transformation of Türkiye's agri-food sector was approved by the World Bank Board of Executive Directors, securing 750 million dollars in financing.
Approval of Project Financing
According to information received from the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, efforts to secure concessional external financing for Türkiye continue with determination. Prepared in line with this objective, the Türkiye Agricultural Food Sector Transformation Project was officially implemented with the approval of the World Bank Board of Executive Directors. With this resource provided, the total amount of long-term and concessional external financing secured from the World Bank across all sectors within 2026 has exceeded 9 billion dollars.
Executing Agencies and Objectives
The approved project will be implemented in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and the Agriculture and Rural Development Support Institution. Within the scope of the project, it is aimed to increase the competitiveness of agri-food value chains and strengthen integration. Furthermore, the efficiency and value-added generation capacities of enterprises and producer organizations will be developed.

Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek stated that cooperation with the World Bank in areas that will strengthen Türkiye's production ecosystem will continue resolutely. He expressed that within the framework of the economic program prioritizing sustainable growth and social welfare, efforts to secure concessional external financing are continuing without slowing down.
