$750 Million Secured for Turkey Agricultural Food Sector Transformation Project
The financing approved by the World Bank aims to increase the competitiveness of agri-food value chains in Turkey and improve businesses' market access.
The $750 million concessional financing approved by the World Bank Board of Executive Directors to support Turkey's agriculture and rural development projects has been officially secured.
Project Approval and Financing
The World Bank Board of Executive Directors approved the $750 million financing prepared for the Turkey Agricultural Food Sector Transformation Project. With this resource, the World Bank's long-term external financing provided to Turkey across all sectors in 2026 exceeded $9 billion.
Executing Agencies and Objectives
To be implemented in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and the Agriculture and Rural Development Support Institution, the project aims to strengthen the competitiveness and integration of agri-food value chains. Additionally, the productivity, added value, and growth capacities of food businesses and producer organizations will be supported.

Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek emphasized that efforts to secure long-term and concessional external financing within the framework of the Medium-Term Program are continuing without slowing down. Şimşek stated that investments in agriculture and rural development will be resolutely sustained with this loan support.
