77th International Astronautical Congress is Preparing to Open Its Doors in Antalya
Hosting the mega event for the first time, Turkey brought the global space community together in Antalya to discuss space technologies and global collaborations.
Organized under the coordination of the Ministry of Industry and Technology, and hosted by the Turkish Space Agency and SAHA Istanbul, the 77th International Astronautical Congress began in Antalya on October 5-9, 2026. The event addresses space technologies and scientific studies with a broad agenda.
Location and Theme of the Congress
The 77th International Astronautical Congress, hosted by Turkey for the first time, is taking place at the NEST Congress and Exhibition Center in Antalya between October 5 and 9, 2026.
The organization offers a comprehensive program aimed at bringing together space stakeholders from around the world under the main theme of "The World Needs More Space".
Organizing Institutions
This large-scale international event is being carried out under the coordination of the Ministry of Industry and Technology.
The Turkish Space Agency (TUA) and SAHA Istanbul are among the primary institutions undertaking the co-hosting of the organization.
Opening and Participants
The official opening of the event was held with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
IAF President Gabriella Arrigo emphasized that the congress presents a major opportunity for Turkey's space ecosystem.
Special Programs and Public Day
Throughout the congress, special sections such as the "Future Space" area and the "Beyond Orbit" program are being offered to participants.
The final day of the event, October 9, has been dedicated to activities open to public participation.
