Armed Attack at Electronic Music Party in Switzerland: 1 Dead, 5 Injured
One person lost their life and five others were injured in an armed attack at an electronic music event in the city of Aarau.
As a result of an armed attack at a music event held in Aarau, in the Aargau canton of northern Switzerland, one person died at the scene and five others were injured and taken to the hospital.
Gunshots Rang Out During the Event
The armed attack took place in the early hours of the morning during an electronic music event called Aarau Rave VOL. 7, held at the Schachen racecourse in the Swiss city of Aarau. Participants initially mistook the gunshots for fireworks.
Following the incident, which was reported to the police around 02:30 local time, security forces launched a large-scale operation and stepped up search efforts in the region.
The Injured Were Treated
In the tragic incident, a 22-year-old woman lost her life at the scene, while a total of five people—four men and one woman aged between 24 and 27—were injured.
It was reported that the conditions of the injured, who were taken to the hospital, ranged from mild to severe, while details were shared within the scope of security rules and the investigation.
Large-Scale Search for Suspects
A large-scale manhunt was launched by the Aargau cantonal police, with the support of fire crews, ambulances, and police from Freiburg, a neighboring country Germany, to apprehend the suspect or suspects.
Authorities ruled out the possibility that the incident was a terrorist attack, stating that they are focusing on the possibility of a fight and that the investigation is ongoing in all its aspects.
