Written by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Branden Jacobs-Jenkins and brought to the stage in collaboration with the National Black Theatre, the world premiere of the play Grass will take place at the Park Avenue Armory.

Written specifically for the Wade Thompson Drill Hall at the Park Avenue Armory, the play Grass will run from February 19 to March 28.

Subject and Structure of the Play

Combining elements of fantasy, memory play, and morality drama, the production focuses on the fantastical and adventurous journey of a mother and her son in the American South.

Creative Team and Cast Information

Reuniting playwright Jacobs-Jenkins with individuals he worked with on the 2014 award-winning production An Octoroon, the play is directed by Sarah Benson, with set design by Mimi Lien.

Technical Crew and Additional Details

The project's design team includes lighting designers Jane Cox and Stacey Derosier, sound designer Bray Poor, and special effects designer Jeremy Chernick. The cast and other details regarding the play will be announced in the fall.
