India's 'Cockroach' youth movement announced that authorities had begun mass detentions ahead of a planned major protest. Youth movement members and various activists were blocked by security forces before the demonstrations to be held in the capital.
Status of CJP Members
Deepak Baliyan, a senior member and spokesperson of the Gen Z-led Cockroach Janta Party, along with many other activists, was reported to have been detained, according to statements made via social media platforms. It was stated that a group of students who set out from Pune to attend the protest in Delhi were also among those detained.
Voter List Controversies
Opposition parties, student unions, and the Cockroach movement have been holding regular demonstrations almost daily to demand the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar due to the controversial voter list revision. The opposition and the CJP claim that the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party is using this revision to its own advantage.

In the country's technology hub, Bengaluru, hundreds of CJP supporter youth movement members held a protest demonstration. Meanwhile, the brief detention of Congress Party leaders and lawmakers by police intervention also sparked reactions nationwide.
