Deadly Warning in the Netherlands Over Trump-Shaped Ecstasy Pills

The Netherlands-based Trimbos Institute has issued an urgent warning to users after discovering that ecstasy pills featuring the silhouette of U.S. President Donald Trump contain high amounts of PMMA.

The Trimbos Institute announced that the Trump-shaped pills detected on the market contain a high concentration of PMMA instead of MDMA.

Experts emphasized that PMMA acts more slowly in the body, which may lead users to overdose under the assumption that the pill is ineffective.

Life-Threatening Risks and Health Effects

The institute informed the public that the use of these pills can cause body temperature to rise excessively, leading to fatal consequences.

Institute spokesperson Anniek Groothuis stated that no serious illnesses or deaths linked to the use of these pills have been reported so far.

Appearance and Detection Process

Produced in yellow and green, the pills feature Trump's head on one side, while the other side bears the inscriptions 'NL' and 'Trump' on either side of a vertical line.

These pills were identified through examinations of samples submitted by users to drug testing centers.

Drug Use in the Netherlands

Although the production and sale of ecstasy are illegal in the Netherlands, it is widely used, particularly in nightclubs and at music festivals.

An official government report from 2024 revealed that approximately 550,000 people in the country had used such substances within a one-year period.
