Several explosion sounds were heard in Saudi Arabia's capital, Riyadh, on Thursday. Flights were temporarily suspended due to a major explosion at the city's international airport.
Houthi Attack Claim
The Iran-backed Houthi movement in Yemen claimed responsibility for the attack targeting King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh. The group claimed that the explosion was caused by a ballistic missile.
UK's Consulate Decision
The UK announced it has reached an agreement with the Israeli government to downgrade its consulate in East Jerusalem to mission level. Under the decision, a limited number of diplomats will continue to serve in the building.
Departure of Diplomats from the Country
Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar stated that 20 British diplomats will leave Israel. It was reported that seven diplomats will remain in the building, operating under its new name as the UK Mission.
