WTO Meeting and Postponement Date

In accordance with the joint request accepted at the World Trade Organization's meeting on September 25, the evaluation process regarding the adoption of the panel report, which contains adverse conclusions for Turkey, has been postponed to October 27, 2026.

Background of the Dispute

The dispute in question officially began when China brought Turkey's additional taxes and import licensing system applied to Chinese-origin automobiles to the World Trade Organization in October 2024.

Details of the Panel Report

The panel established as a result of China's application found the additional taxes applied by Turkey to electric automobiles and certain hybrid vehicles, as well as certain provisions of the import licensing system, to be contrary to the organization's rules.
