The final entry lists for the World Athletics Road Running Championships Copenhagen 26 have been announced ahead of the races taking place on September 19-20, with a total of 496 athletes from 85 federations officially registered.
Broad Participation Secured for the Championship
A total of 496 athletes from 85 federations have registered for the World Athletics Road Running Championships Copenhagen 26, which will be held in the capital of Denmark. The list includes 270 male and 226 female athletes.
The World Athletics Refugee Team will also participate in the event, and global titles will be contested in the road mile, 5km, and half marathon disciplines.
Strong Names in the Women's Half Marathon
Agnes Ngetich, the holder of the world 10km record, aims to add a new global title to her collection by taking the start in the half marathon competition. The Kenyan athlete stands out with her national mark in this discipline.
Along with Ngetich, prominent figures such as Tsigie Gebreselama of Ethiopia and Julia Paternain of Uruguay will also compete for medals in Copenhagen.
Record Holders in the Men's Half Marathon
Nicholas Kipkorir, competing for Kenya, is among the athletes who will take the start in the men's half marathon category and will face strong competitors.
Sweden's Andreas Almgren, alongside Uganda's Joshua Cheptegei and Kenya's Daniel Ebenyo, are also among the athletes who will sweat for medals.
Fierce Competition in the 5km Races
France's Jimmy Gressier will stand out in the 5km races with his world-record-challenging performance and will face Ethiopia's Addisu Yihune once again.
Norwegian Olympic champion Jakob Ingebrigtsen will also compete in this category, preparing for a busy schedule where he will race in two different championships back-to-back.
