A significant portion of participants believe that politicians' certain policies and rhetoric damage freedom of expression. For instance, the proportion of those who believe that the arrest of individuals carrying banners supporting the banned group Palestine Action has a negative impact on freedom of expression reaches twice the proportion of those who find it positive.
Liberty Organization's Warning to the Government
Liberty Director Akiko Hart emphasized that the findings obtained should serve as a very clear warning for the government. Hart stated that the public has lost confidence in the current administration regarding the protection of fundamental human rights and that this situation could cost the party votes in the elections.
